The solidarity allowance is a benefit in the amount of PLN 1400 payable to persons whose employment contract was terminated by the employer after 15 March 2020 or their contract for a fixed period has expired. In order to receive the allowance in 2020, one must be subject to social insurance under the employment contract for at least 60 days in total.
The benefit was introduced in June 2020 for a period of 3 months. The allowance is payable for the month in which the application is submitted.
The application for the solidarity allowance can be submitted only electronically, via the ZUS Electronic Services Platform (PUE).
The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) has so far paid out benefits to over 185 thousand people for a total amount exceeding PLN 250 milion.
