On 14 September 2023, the government announced the minimum wage and hourly rate in 2024 – the same as those in the draft regulation. The minimum wage and hourly rate are to be double-valorised next year.
What will the minimum wage and hourly rate be in 2024?
The government issued a regulation on the minimum wage for next year one day before the statutory deadline. According to it, the minimum wage and hourly rate will be increased twice in 2024, similar to the current year.

Minimum wage | Minimum hourly rate | In force since |
3 490 | 22.80 | 1 January 2023 |

4 242 | 27.70 | 1 January 2024 |
4 300 | 28.10 | 1 July 2024 |
What is the reason for double valorisation of the minimum wage and hourly rate in 2024?
Double valorisation of the minimum wage and hourly rate is due to the consistently high level of inflation. If the price index forecast for the following year is at least 105%, the minimum wage must be increased twice a year according to Polish law.
What are the possible consequences of the increase in the minimum wage in 2024 for employers?
Due to the double increase of the minimum wage and hourly rate in 2024, employers can expect an increase in the amount of the minimum contribution for health insurance. More information on the minimum contribution base for this contribution will be announced soon.
