As from 1 January 2023, every entrepreneur, regardless of the number of employees, will be obliged to have an account on the ZUS Electronic Services Platform (PUE ZUS). Until now, this obligation applied only to payers settling contributions for more than five persons.
According to the provisions of the Act of 24 June 2021 amending the Act on the social insurance system and certain other acts, as from 1 January 2023, every entrepreneur, including those settling contributions only for themselves, will be obliged to have a profile on PUE ZUS, i.e. on the Electronic Services Platform of the Social Insurance Institution.
The deadline for setting up the profile is 30 December 2022. After this time, ZUS will itself set up accounts for those who have not met the statutory obligation.

A PUE ZUS account provides quick access to data and functions, inter alia, regarding ZUS settlements. The platform enables the payer to conveniently submit applications and create electronic documents with data from ZUS to submit information to a selected institution, for example when applying for grants or loans.
In addition, as from 1 January 2021, employers are obliged to inform the Social Insurance Institution of any contract for a specific task, and this can be done quickly via PUE.

Moreover, it is important to note that by registering as a payer of contributions, an entrepreneur can grant authorisations to the PUE ZUS profile to an accountant or an employee of an accounting office, if necessary. The entrepreneur can also submit a power of attorney to PUE ZUS, but the person to whom the power of attorney is granted should also have an active account on the platform.
Via PUE ZUS, the entrepreneur will also make an appointment at a ZUS branch, and each such booking will be identified with a PUE login.
Currently, according to ZUS data, more than 10.6 million users use the PUE ZUS platform, and more than 87 per cent of companies settling contributions for 1 to 5 people have set up a profile with the role of a payer.
