The government has published a draft regulation on the minimum wage and the minimum hourly rate in 2024. As in the current year, the valorisation is to take place twice, due to the continuing high inflation rate.
In the current year, the minimum remuneration and hourly rate have increased twice, i.e. on 1 January and 1 July 2023. Currently, the minimum remuneration is PLN 3 600 gross, and the minimum hourly rate is PLN 23.50 gross.

According to Polish law, if the price index projected for the following year is at least 105%, the minimum pay must be increased twice per year. Given that inflation is still high, a double valorisation of the minimum pay and the hourly rate in 2024 is extremely likely. The Council of Ministers is planning the following increases:
Minimum remuneration in 2024:
Minimum hourly rate in 2024:
Below we summarise the valorisation of the minimum wage and the hourly rate (gross) in 2022 – 2024 in PLN:
Minimum wage | Minimum hourly rate | In force since |
3 010 | 19.70 | 1 January 2022 |
3 490 | 22.80 | 1 January 2023 |
3 600 | 23.50 | 1 July 2023 |
4 242 | 27.70 | 1 January 2024 |
4 300 | 28.10 | 1 July 2024 |
Each year, the Council of Ministers is obliged to present a proposal for the amount of the minimum pay and hourly rate for the following year to the Social Dialogue Council by 15 June. If the Council does not reach a common position on the minimum remuneration by 15 July, its amount is set by the Council of Ministers.
In 2023, the Social Dialogue Council has not reached a common position. Therefore, the Council of Ministers will set the amounts of the minimum wage and hourly rate for 2024 by means of a regulation by 15 September this year.
