[Czech Republic] Even the Members of Parliament make mistakes

In the previous article, we informed about the ongoing electronization of the Czech Social Security Office. In connection with this, it is worth mentioning the sad situation when the law, which implemented the obligation to submit most reports electronically, also implemented the obligation to send registrations and deregistrations of employees within one working day of commencement/termination.

According to some opinions, this was an attempt to prevent the situations when an electronic sick note is visible to the original employer instead of the new one. However, as most Members of Parliament approved this change by mistake, they returned the deadline to 8 calendar days before the original change took effect. Adherence to the deadline of one working day is almost unrealistic in practice, especially for companies for which payroll accounting is processed by an external entity.
