A regulation on the minimum wage and the minimum hourly rate in 2025 has been published in the Journal of Laws. The final amounts are higher than planned.
The Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 12 September 2024 on the minimum wage and the minimum hourly rate in 2025 specifies the final amounts applicable next year.
The minimum wage in 2025 will be PLN 4,666 gross, while the minimum hourly rate will be PLN 30.50 gross.
The table below compares next year’s minimum wage and minimum hourly rate with the amounts applicable in 2024.
Validity period | Minimum gross salary | Minimum gross hourly rate |
01.01.2025 – 31.12.2025 | 4,666 PLN | 30.50 PLN |
01.07.2024 – 31.12.2024 | 4,300 PLN | 28.10 PLN |
01.01.2024 – 30.06.2024 | 4,242 PLN | 27.70 PLN |
As can be seen from the table above, the government has decided to increase the minimum wage twice in 2024. Meanwhile, in 2025 there will be only one increase in the minimum wage, i.e. the amount of PLN 4,666 gross will apply from January 1 to December 31, 2025.
Let us recall that on 1 August, the draft regulation on the minimum wage and the minimum hourly rate in 2025 was included in the list of legislative and programmatic works of the Council of Ministers, setting the minimum wage at 4,626PLN gross.
The final minimum wage specified in the published regulation is therefore higher than the planned one by 40 PLN. Therefore, the lowest national wage will increase next year by 366 PLN compared to the second half of 2024.
In accordance with the assumptions of implementing the provisions of the directive on minimum wages into Polish law, the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy (MRPiPS) has prepared a draft act. The draft proposes changes concerning, among others, the principles of establishing the lowest wage in the country.
The Ministry of Labour has presented a proposal to update the minimum wage at least once every 4 years based on the following criteria:
